Description :
Summary:
- Work closely with APAC Business and IT stakeholders to understand Business/IT requirements regarding connectivity to new trading venues, enhancement of existing market connectivity/market data platform and own and implement the solutions from start to finish
- Lead Japan market connectivity and market data projects. Work closely with IT peers (Network, Unix, Exchanges) to innovate and implement necessary solutions. Update IT and Business stakeholders in necessary forums.
- Work closely with APAC Connectivity head to formulate IT strategy/roadmap for accommodating Business requirement on a proactive basis while keeping the solutions inline with global platforms
- Work closely with global Client Adoption IT peers to understand customer specific requirements for a given market and provide solutions for the same
- Publish market connectivity components usage report, build technology roadmap based on current infrastructure capability and project Business volumes/performance requirements
- Work with connectivity head/lead low latency market access initiatives - proximity hosting, co-location, market data vendor assessment specific to customer needs
- Develop required tools and application around core client and market connectivity components as per the requirement
- Provide L2/L3 support for market connectivity platform
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that the market connectivity Infrastructure is configured and operating in an optimal manner.
- Roll out new releases of the market connectivity infrastructure in a controlled and managed way, with zero client impact.
- Ensure interfaces with all downstream systems work in optimal manner
- Maintain and enhance configuration and procedural documentation.
- Troubleshoot the connectivity Infrastructure when faults arise.
- Manage connectivity projects and update APAC connectivity head on regular basis
- Develop custom tools around core client and market connectivity infrastructure to ensure proper monitoring is in place
- Suggest and implement new ways of cutting down broker contribution to latency to market
- Provide support and training to Front Line Support Staff. |
Requirements :
Essential Skills:
- Bachelors Degree in IT / Scientific / Engineering discipline or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years experience developing market connectivity applications for Japanese markets (order execution, off board/off market reporting).
- Knowledge of Japan market operations is a must
- Proven ability to manage projects
- Proven ability to work in dynamic environment with high pressure to deliver within tight deadlines
- Good organisational skills.
- Sound communication and customer support skills with regards to support of front office and operations groups
- Client/Service Focussed.
- Team player
- Basic UNIX Systems Admin.
- Good UNIX Shell Scripting (perl / ksh / awk / sed etc).
- TCP/IP Networking.
- Expertise in Object oriented programming is a must . Java, C++
- Naturally inquisitive and creative, who relishes challenges and problem solving.
- Able to think clearly and objectively, and prioritise tasks.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of market data infrastructure
- Knowledge of low latency market access technology
- Knowledge of FIX protocol
- Knowledge is data centre vendors
- Japanese linguistics
