Primarily responsible for underwriting and structuring straightforward credit transactions. Credit Products Associate Underwriter is an integral member of the Client Team and assists the Credit Products Underwriter and Credit Products Officer with delivering the end-to-end credit experience to our clients. Also, assists in the underwriting and structuring of complex credit transactions and plays an active role in the documentation of transactions.
Responsible for the ongoing maintenance and management of the portfolio.
Serves as a key member of the Commercial Client Team in handling the client's financial needs, ensuring that the overall client experience is favorable and that the bank is in a position to expand the relationship.
Delivers financial, industry, and economic analyses and other activities to facilitate decision making.
Responsible for adherence to credit policies, guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Establishes appropriate balance of risk/reward with Corporate Debt Products client base and ensures effective exposure management.
Ensures appropriate level of due diligence and risk tolerance are applied in credit decision making.
Underwrites, monitors credit, market and operational risks within those client relationships. Partners with CB to achieve growth objectives while optimizing the use of capital.
Employs market valuation perspective and aligns strategic use of the balance sheet with issuer and investor strategies.
Actively manages capital usage through buy, sell and hedge decisions.
Requires strong communication and solid analytical/technical skills.
Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Credit coverage of a portfolio of corporate accounts.
• Participate in the decision to commit the bank’s resources and prepare Credit Approval Memoranda.
• Recommend credit facilities within designated limits after ensuring that they adhere to the bank's credit policy guidelines and comply with internal / external regulations.
• Evaluate the performance of the client through analysis of the business, industry position, economic conditions, financials (balance sheet / financial ratios/ cash flows) etc. Complete financial spreads, prepare and review financial projections. Analyst is expected to build extensive knowledge of each client.
• Monitor individual credit takers on an ongoing basis and provide crisp, concise analytical feedback.
• Responsible for accuracy of internal risk ratings and ongoing tracking of credit quality, with the objective of improving the credit quality of the portfolio managed by the associate.
• Work closely with business partners to generate adequate financial returns for the bank from the assigned portfolio.
• Work to achieve satisfactory ratings in internal / external credit examinations.
• Liaise with documentation group and other support functions such as legal, compliance and finance on credit related matters affecting the assigned portfolio.

Requirements :
• Candidate should have strong academic credentials, with a degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related disciplines.
• 2-3 years of experience in credit risk analysis, loan structuring and account management in a corporate banking environment. Knowledge of trade finance is essential. Experience in credit risk analysis of PRC-based corporations is an added-advantage.
• Must possess solid analytical and technical capabilities and a demonstrated ability to broadly apply these skills in a corporate banking context.

• Willingness and ability to express opinions and work in a high pressure environment.
• Demonstrated ability to deal with multiple priorities and business partners at the same time, and across different geographical locations and time zones.
• Proficient in PC knowledge and familiar with MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
• Fluency in both written and spoken English and Mandarin essential.
