Major international bank hiring for its China business:
• At the direction of Head -FICC/Equity Derivatives Asia Region, acts as the point person for supporting and building the businesses strategy the country.
• Heads Capital Markets Operations and Middle Office for PRC with a base in Shanghai and a reach to other locations such as Beijing and Guangzhou.
• Incumbent to possess strong knowledge of Global Markets products and a general overview of corporate operations and hold responsibility for development and execution of the build out of the new incorporation in China.
• Responsible for setting up processes, procedures and controls in the new entity by providing leadership and direction for an end to end execution.
• Partner with external and internal regulatory bodies to lead the project governance
• Liaise with other positions in Legal, Compliance, Audit etc as necessary on internal and external audits and inspections in order to maintain top class operational excellence in the function.
• Champion consistency of transition and integration approach between LBAC and LMER as appropriate.
• Responsible for budgeting an financial planning within the remit of the setup; manage all project allocations within cost savings and efficiency measures across country platform, in collaboration with business partners.
• Hire and build a talented and multi-cultural team to take the organization into future.
• Lead from the front, make transformational changes and manage/execute change as it may pertain in the GMOandMO context.
• Lead and initiate technology related innovations to foster excellence and innovate/envision competitive solutions. Work with technology partners for effective implementation and execution
• Build and maintain relationships with regulatory and governmental departments where appropriate to pursue bank’s interest.
Risk Management and Governance
• Coordinate risk and control functions in a manner and in accordance with enterprise-wide governance standards (control functions, supervision, brand management, reputation risks, etc.)
• Support the Country Risk Committee on adherence to comply with local governance requirements. Manage full accountability of the same for GMOandMO functions within the country.
• Provide advice on country specific initiatives and risks including major changes to the corporate structure, maintenance of a sound system of internal control and risk management.
• Provide leadership for country risk reviews conducted by the enterprise
• Ensure a current business continuity plan is in place for all locations in-country and as an integration point for any BCP event along with Regional GMOandMO Leadership, Process Owners, Country Executive and Country Crisis Management Team
Business Development, Integration and Leadership
• Consolidate business plans across GMOandMO in the Country for presentation to Government/Regulatory authorities to obtain business grants/waivers
• Manage Integration projects as and when required, help support growth of business in the country
• Manage associate satisfaction and engagement for a talent pool of resources. Identify – Grow and move talent on a continuous basis. (Ownership of Talent Planning, Succession planning and Learning and Development of team members)
• Potential to grow into a regional role in 18-24 months
